One of the protective products that those new to vinyl should acquire is the "Record Protective Film." Protective film protects the record sleeves more than the records themselves. Sleeves are less durable than records and wear out more quickly over time. Protective film prevents stains on the sleeves and protects them from tearing. It also provides extra protection for the records, making them less likely to break if dropped. You can find detailed information about protective film in our blog post, "Outer Sleeve Raw Materials."

Record protective film should, of course, be selected based on the size of the record. You can find detailed information about record sizes in this blog post.

First of all, if you're just starting your record collection, you can choose the 7" or 12" starter set, which includes 10 sleeves and protective film.

The 12" Regular Fit Version (32 cm) fits the cover without any gaps. It's suitable for most albums, especially those with worn or dented back covers. Some new pressings, double-disc, and pop-up covers may not fit this version. This size is also suitable for 12" Maxi Single records. The full-fit version fits most albums with minimal gaps. It can also fit some pop-up covers. This version is suitable for 80% of 12" LP albums. You can also order the 12" 31.5 cm Tight Fit as an intermediate version that fits tightly for some records.

The 12" Snug Fit Version (33 cm) can be used for all pop-up, double-disc, and triple-disc album covers. It's a gap-free size for most albums. This version is available in both fully transparent OPP and frosted PE. Click here for the OPP version, and click here for the PE version.

12" Tape Version (32 and 35 cm) This thin, transparent, gelatin-like product, often preferred by record stores, seals the record from the outside air. It is less durable and transparent than other PE (polyethylene) nylons. The 32 cm version is suitable for single-disc albums, while the 35 cm version has a wider gap. Additionally, shipping cartons can be placed inside the 35 cm version to prevent risks such as moisture during shipping.

The thick version is more protective for 7" singles. The thin version (OPP) offer a more transparent appearance than the thick version. The original and printed covers are 18x18 cm. All 7" records envelopes fit seamlessly into the nylons.

7" Tape Versions (18-19 cm): While many 7" records fit within the 18 cm version, some may not fit due to different lid sizes. The 19 cm version covers all lids. You can order the 19 cm without hesitation.

The 10" Shellac Version (27 cm) is a wide version for all record holders. It is a gap size for many record holders.

All record protection nylons are made of high-density polyethylene (PE), which has a slightly frosted appearance and a fully transparent polypropylene (OPP), which does not pose a risk of sticking to the lid. The dimensions indicated are approximate. Due to the production method, nylons cannot be produced to the millimeter.
